Theron L. Peterson and Dorothy R. Peterson Professor of Chemistry; Department Chair of Chemistry
Dr. Paul Edmiston is an analytical chemist with expertise in the identification and quantitation of small molecules by mass spectrometry (GC-MS, HPLC-MS/MS, HPLC-Q-ToF). Applications of mass spectrometry include metabolomics, molecular networking, and non-target analysis. In addition, his laboratory develops for environmental sampling. Dr. Edmiston also works in designing porous materials, including the development of Osorb, for use in water purification, protein immobilization, and as catalyst supports.
Advanced materials for water purification using mesoporous organosilica; development of chemical sensors based on molecularly imprinted materials. Read about Edmiston's research.
Founded in 2008, ABSMaterials has applied Dr. Paul Edmiston’s patented organosilica materials for water treatment, environmental remediation, and personal care.
