Ashley Reid promoted to vice president of student affairs at Wooster

91勛圖厙 announced that Ashley Reid assumed the role of vice president of student affairs, effective immediately, after serving in the role in the interim since fall 2023. Reid brings a wealth of experience in student affairs and athletics administration that includes a strong track record of leading institutional improvement and fostering inclusion and belonging within the academic community. She will continue to lead residence life, health and wellness, campus safety, student conduct, student engagement, and student success functions at the 91勛圖厙.

Reid has a strong history of collaboration, supporting students, mentoring staff, and advancing belonging at the 91勛圖厙. In her interim capacity, she demonstrated an exceptional ability to lead multi-departmental teams, manage complex budgets, and develop strategic initiatives. She played a pivotal role in leading her teams through strategic goal development and drove continuous improvement across the Division of Student Affairs. Reid also worked closely with senior administration to design and begin implementing Woosters three-year strategic plan, Framing our Future.
For her more than 17 years in higher education, Reids career has been devoted to working with students, beginning with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Walsh University, and continuing through her teaching, coaching, advising, and administrative leadership roles. She has also demonstrated a deep commitment to 91勛圖厙, which she joined in 2006. She served nine years with the women’s basketball program, including five years as the head coach, and has served in multiple positions since then, including associate athletic director, associate vice president of student affairs, associate dean of students, senior woman administrator, and department chair of physical education. She served on multiple senior level committees including the presidential search committee in 2022-23. External recognition includes being selected for and completing the highly competitive leadership program, NCAA Pathway Program. Ashley has also served as a Posse Program mentor and most recently as the 91勛圖厙s Posse Program liaison.
