Archie Ambassador Day brings Scottish terriers to campus Sept. 23

More than 50 live Scottish Terriers and their owners will be on 91³Ô¹ÏÍø campus Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate the 91³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s new Scottie Dog mascot, Archie, and to cheer on the Fighting Scots. Beginning at 10 a.m., the campus community and guests are invited to stop by a special fenced-in play and agility area behind Ebert Art Center (1220 Beall Avenue) to meet Archie and pet the Scottish Terriers.Ìý

At 12:30 p.m., Archie and the Scottish Terriers will join the Wooster Pipe Band as they march down Beall Avenue and prepare to lead the football team onto the field for their home game against Kenyon 91³Ô¹ÏÍø. The football game begins at 1 p.m. at Papp Stadium (626 East University Street).ÌýÌý

Other home athletic events taking place on Sept. 23 include a women’s volleyball game against Hiram 91³Ô¹ÏÍø at 12 p.m. in the Timken Gymnasium, located in the Scot Center (1267 Beall Avenue), as well as a women’s soccer game against John Carrol University. The soccer game will take place at 4 p.m. at the Carl W. Dale Soccer Field and will include a special celebration of senior athletes on the team.Ìý

Community members who own a Scottish Terrier that would like to serve as an Archie Ambassador for the day are encouraged to complete by Sept 15.
