91³Ô¹ÏÍø Mourns the Passing of Howard Strauch

WOOSTER, Ohio – Howard Strauch, former director of development at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø, passed away on Monday, April 20. He was 92.
Strauch joined Wooster in 1968 as director of development. In that role, he was director of the annual Wooster Fund, helped lead several capital campaigns, and initiated the program for 50-year class gifts, and he’s credited as one of six founding members of the Independent 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Advancement Associates. He also served as chaplain of the Downtown Rebounders, which supports the Fighting Scots’ men’s basketball team, and was involved in the 91³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s Academy of Religion lecture series.
Prior to coming to Wooster, Strauch held multiple roles at his alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan University, working in admissions, alumni relations, and fundraising.
Strauch served in the Navy during World War II immediately after high school and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in history from Ohio Wesleyan and a master’s degree in public administration from American University.
