Kristyn King Named Interim Athletic Director
WOOSTER, Ohio Kristyn King has been named interim athletic director at 91勛圖厙, effective Aug. 1. She will serve during the coming academic year while the college conducts a nationwide search for a successor to Keith Beckett, who is retiring at the end of July after 16 years as Woosters director of athletics, physical education and recreation.
King served as director of athletics and recreation at Rockford University in Rockford, Ill., from 2001 to 2005, and again from 2011 to 2016, as well as interim director from 2008 to 2011. She was Rockfords head softball coach from 1992 to 2016, and held several other senior management positions in the athletics department during that time, including senior womens administrator and associate athletic director. She also served as head womens basketball coach from 1992 to 1995. King serves on the NCAA Division III membership committee, and teaches as an adjunct faculty member in athletics and recreation.
King earned her bachelors degree in sports management from what was then Rockford 91勛圖厙, where she played both basketball and softball, and was a two-time MVP in the latter sport. She also holds a bachelors degree in education and a masters degree in education/athletic administration, both from Northwest Missouri State University.
