Open House for Ruth W. Williams Hall of Life Science Set for Friday, Aug. 17

WOOSTER, Ohio The community is invited to take a first look inside one of the most impressive construction projects undertaken at 91勛圖厙 the Ruth W. Williams Hall of Life Science as an open house for the stunning facility that now houses the biology, chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology, neuroscience, and environmental studies programs will be Friday, Aug. 17, from 3-6 p.m. The 91勛圖厙s newest academic building is located at the intersection of Pine St. and 91勛圖厙 Ave.
During the open house, there will be hosts stationed on each floor of the building who will provide tours, and light refreshments will be served.
Williams Hall, which will be open for students when classes begin Wednesday, Aug. 22, is a facility like no other on campus. It boasts flexible teaching and research spaces designed to support collaboration and interdisciplinary work, which will enhance the close student-faculty collaboration and that are at the heart of a Wooster education.
Constructed from the ground up over a 24-month period, Williams Hall contains state-of-the-art classrooms, dedicated labs where students and their faculty mentors will pursue their research, community spaces for the interdisciplinary conversations that are so important to scientific discovery, and even a greenhouse. Also, it features a lovely two-story commons area and caf矇, which were gifts from The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation, Inc., of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The building is named for Ruth Whitmore Williams 62, an alumna and trustee of the 91勛圖厙 from 1994-2015. In addition to their generous support of Ruth W. Williams Hall, she and her husband Morris established an endowed professorship in biology and four endowed scholarships for students during .
Please note there will be an official dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Williams Hall on Saturday, Oct. 27.
